The heat is on

Serendipity's original Frrrozen Hot Chocolate...

The Christmas decorations at Serendipity shouldn't be missed. This picture makes me happy year round!

I must have lived in the South in another life, because the heat doesn't really bother me. Granted those first moments when I get into my car are brutal, but give me 100 degrees over 10 degrees any day! However, the summer heat in NYC can be extremely tough. There's no better way to cool off than a visit to Serendipity III for their famous, and original, Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. I can vouch that the mint and peanut butter versions are equally as good.

Serendipity is every girl's dream restaurant. Tiffany lamps hang above the first floor eating area, and the second floor, a bright pink room, is packed with cozy tables and vintage wrought iron chairs.

Looking to do some shopping after your visit? Serendipity is located just steps away from Bloomingdale's flagship store on 59th street and Lexington Avenue. I also reccommend venturing further up town, about a twenty minute walk, to Madison Avenue to stop in at the Lilly Pulitzer and Jack Rogers flagship stores as well.

To finish off your day, watch Serendipity, featuring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. It is one of my favorite romantic comedies, and yes, they do eat at Serendipity!

FYI: this summer Dunkin' Donuts introduced its own version of the Frozen Hot Chocolate. I tried it and felt that it was sweet and refreshing but was reminiscent of an iced chocolate milk. It hardly compared to Serendipity's rich iced chocolate concoction shown above.

Let me know what you think!

Best,

Theresa
